WHY I'M STANDING FOR RE-ELECTION
Publicly funded Catholic education has always been, and continues to be, my passion. I was educated in the Catholic school system in Guelph, and my children were educated in the system. I have always believed if something needs to be done, it is important to be a part of the conversation to promote and facilitate change. This philosophy motivated me to become a Catholic School Trustee. To this day, I believe being involved makes a difference to promote positive change.
MY BELIEFS
The Ontario educational system is considered one of the best in the world. One of the reasons for that is the current makeup of four publicly funded systems. There is no reason to dismantle that. Catholic schools have graduated discerning, participating and contributing members of our society, and will continue to do so.
MY STRENGTHS
I excel in team building, leadership and communication. I am one trustee on a board of six trustees, and we work together to make the best decisions possible, to ensure that the students of Wellington Catholic have the tools and resources needed to obtain an excellent Catholic education.
I also understand education finances, and I work hard with our board and administration to ensure we're fiscally responsible. I'm not afraid to make difficult decisions, but I also believe we need to work cooperatively with administration in order to achieve the best results.
